Location
Santiago is a very, very large city so to enjoy it properly you´ll need a good location.
At Hostal de la Barra we can proudly tell you that we have the best one in the city at the heart of barrio lastarria / bellas artes / parque forestal, a neighborhood full of life and history. Theaters, restaurants, art galleries, old libraries, historical buildings, monuments, main universitys are all around here. Some main tourist points to visit are:

  • 1 block to Cerro Santa Lucía, where the city was founded on february 12th, 1541 by spaniard Pedro de Valdivia

    Museo de Arte Precolombino, 2 blocks to Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC), 2 blocks to Museo de Artes Visuales (MAV), 3 blocks to Museo Casa Colorada…to name someones…
  
  • 7 minutes walking to Barrio Bellavista where Pablo Neruda´s house has been tranformed in a museum you can visit in a neighborhood full of restaurants, pubs and live music.
  • 10 minutes walking to Palacio de la Moneda and civic center
  • 8 minutes walking to Mercado Central, a market full of seafood restaurants and tipycal chilean products and one floor to Café de la Barra, our own cofee house where your breakfast will be served…
